Dave Anthony The tone/mood of the story creates a fairytale set in modern times. The lesson would be that without suffering we never get to the essence of ourselves and life remains bland. (Kinda sucks for us but it’s true.) I feel this story more than I intellectualize it which is a hard thing for a writer to accomplish for his/her readers. Thank you for writing.
