It’s not a dirty word
It’s what I am
It’s what a billion are
It’s what you will be
if you live
long enough

It may make you
Squirm
Stare
Avert your eyes

Challenge your brain
Fail to imagine

Condescend
Pity
Idolize
Ignore

Tempt to ask
Ask

Race your heart
Confuse it
Break it
Freeze it
Melt it

Sidestep
Walk by
Turn around
Walk away

Or . . .
Just maybe . . .
Say it
