Love your article. Something we don’t think about until we are meeting our favorite authors. Now we can ask a good question. One think not to ask a poet is if they envisioned their poems on cocktail napkins. I was at a library lecture where someone got up and ask that of Billy Collins. Everyone cringed. When the man wouldn’t let the idea go and volunteered to help Collins with this project, Billy said something like, that’s something you’d have to discuss with my manager. He was quite gracious.
